Subtle Racism

Call it harmless stereotyping if you want, but the roots of racism are still alive and kicking in the US of A.

Ex. 1: At Capital Seafood Express this past week, my Caucasian looking friend and I both bought two item combos. Upon sitting down, he incredulously realized that they had not given him chopsticks. Half laughing, half shaking my head, I reached into my bag to find chopsticks that I didn't mind giving him to use. However, upon further groping around the bag, I realized that they hadn't given me a fork. My friend gave me his, and the reverse stereotype was complete.

Ex. 2: "Hey David, you're good at computers right?! Can you help me fix this?"

Ex. 3: "Hey David, can you solve this rubik's cube for me?"

Sigh.
